About this event
This is one of our entry-level inductions, providing you with an introduction to the key power tools vital for any woodworker to learn their craft. You’ll learn the correct tools to use across a range of woodworking tasks: the use of a biscuit joiner to join two components edge to edge, the correct type of cutter to use with a router, how to achieve better accuracy with a router table, and how to make curved cuts using a jigsaw.
This session also covers how to safely use all of these tools and provides advice on the precautionary measures to take to protect yourself from the wood dust produced during all power tool use.
After completing this induction, you will become a member, and a great way to practice your new skills is to book a bench and pick up the ‘Power Tools Skills Kit’, on sale at the workshop. This specially designed kit has been created by our technical team to accompany the induction and comes with pre-cut timber and easy-to-follow instructions to design and customise your own stylish chopping board.
